SUMMARY:2026 Paws & Pours for Prevention - Postponed till Spring 2027
DESCRIPTION:Dear Paws & Pours Supporters\, \nAfter careful consideration\, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone Paws & Pours this weekend due to the severe storms and nor’easter expected in our area. \nThe safety of our guests\, vendors\, volunteers\, staff\, and four-legged friends must come first\, and unfortunately\, it is not safe for us to hold the event as planned this weekend. We know how much time\, planning\, and excitement goes into an event like Paws & Pours\, which makes this decision especially difficult. \nWe want to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible hosts\, Benmarl Winery\, Compassion Veterinary\, Stonecottage Veterinary\, and the entire Spaccarelli family\, who have worked tirelessly to plan and organize this event. We are incredibly grateful for everything they have done to make Paws & Pours possible. \nWe also want to thank all of our vendors\, sponsors\, local businesses\, volunteers\, and supporters who donated their time\, talents\, services\, and resources. Your generosity and enthusiasm mean so much to us\, and we are truly sorry that we won’t be able to celebrate together this weekend. \nBut this isn’t goodbye — it’s just a rain check! \nWe are already looking forward to bringing Paws & Pours back in Spring 2027\, when we can gather safely and celebrate our community\, our local businesses\, and\, of course\, our beloved pups. An official date will be announced as soon as it is finalized. \nThank you for your understanding\, your patience\, and most of all\, for supporting Paws & Pours and the organizations and community behind it. We hope to see you all in the spring for a celebration that will be well worth the wait! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Join us for the third annual Paws & Pours for Prevention on September 26\, 2026\, at the beautiful Benmarl Winery in Marlboro\, NY.\n \n \n \n \n \n This special evening brings our community together to raise critical funds and awareness for the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse (CPCA)\, helping provide prevention programs\, education\, and support services for thousands of local children and families each year. \nWhether you attend as a guest or become a sponsor\, your support makes a meaningful difference. Sponsorship offers a unique opportunity to showcase your commitment to strengthening families\, protecting children\, and giving back to our community while gaining recognition among fellow supporters and local businesses. \nWe invite you to be part of an unforgettable evening of great wine\, community\, and compassion—all in support of a cause that changes lives. \nWith gratitude\,Dr. Nicholas V. Growing up\, she experienced bullying and often felt overlooked as her family navigated other children’s significant needs. \nAt 16\, she entered an abusive relationship and became pregnant at 17. While preparing to care for her baby\, she was experiencing violence herself. She was a young person who needed protection\, soon to become a mother determined to protect her own child. \nHer connection with The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse began at our Child Advocacy Center\, where a family advocate\, our facility dog Peace\, and a multidisciplinary team supported her through the forensic interview process. \nBut her need for support did not end there. \nAfter losing custody of Isaiah\, Aaliyah faced months without seeing her little boy. At just 18\, she was trying to navigate unfamiliar systems\, understand what was expected of her\, and find answers to her questions with very little guidance. \nShe knew she wanted a different life for her son. She needed support to understand how to build one. \n \n \n \n \n \n “I need to do better for my son\,” she said. “He deserves better.”\n \n \n \n \n \n Her journey with CPCA continued through our Supportive Parenting Program. There\, she found parenting education\, encouragement\, and a support system she could trust. Staff offered compassion and accountability\, supporting her as she worked toward becoming the parent she wanted to be. \nAaliyah says she can tell CPCA staff about her struggles and decisions without fear of judgment. For someone who grew up feeling overlooked\, knowing she has people she can speak to honestly—and turn to when things get difficult—has become an important part of moving forward. \nShe could ask for guidance\, acknowledge challenges\, and keep working toward her goals with people who listened and took her concerns seriously. \n \n \n \n \n \n “This program made me actually try\,” she shared.\n \n \n \n \n \n With a trusted team beside her\, Aaliyah began making changes for herself and her son. She learned that she could not change her past\, but she could change the decisions she made moving forward. \nShe maintained a full-time job\, participated in mental health services\, and secured her own apartment. In July 2026\, she graduated from the Supportive Parenting Program and was granted unsupervised visitation with Isaiah. \nAfter months of separation\, this was a meaningful step toward the future she had been working so hard to build. \nToday\, her journey continues. Through aftercare services\, CPCA remains part of her support system as she works toward reunification. Graduation did not mean losing the relationships she had come to rely on. She knows she has people she can turn to as she faces challenges and takes her next steps. \n \n \n \n \n \n “I want to do whatever is best for my son\,” she said.\n \n \n \n \n \n From her first connection with the Child Advocacy Center to parenting education and ongoing aftercare\, Aaliyah’s story shows the difference consistent support can make for a young mother determined to break the cycle of trauma. \nNames have been changed to protect the family’s privacy. \n \n \n \n \n \n Thanks to caring supporters like YOU\, young parents like Aaliyah have support they can count on as they turn their determination into a safer\, brighter future for their children. \n \n GIVE NOW\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Thank You to Our\n#GivingTuesday Match Partners\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n David & Mary Ann Silver\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Thank You to Our \nFirst Donor
