DESCRIPTION:What is Child Abuse Prevention Month?\nApril has been designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month since 1983. Throughout the month\, communities are encouraged to increase awareness about child and family well-being\, and work together to implement effective strategies that support families and prevent child abuse and neglect.\nHow can I get involved?\nThe CPCA has events and ways that you can participate throughout the month of April in order to raise awareness and help our mission to end child abuse in the Hudson Valley.\nApril 9th – We #GoBlueHV for Child Abuse Prevention!\nJoin us as we wear blue to raise awareness and commit to ending child abuse in the Hudson Valley. Share your photos by using the hashtag #GoBlueHV and tagging The CPCA on Facebook or Instagram. We will also be revealing our pinwheel garden during a live press conference. Tune in to our Facebook page for some more information. \nApril 13th – Project Protect 2021 goes LIVE on Facebook\nPledge to end child abuse by taking a part in one of our free trainings on how to recognize and report child abuse. Even if you are already a mandated reporter\, this free training serves as a refresher course to address the pandemic\, prevalence of abuse in Dutchess County\, and new ways we can protect children. We are going LIVE on Facebook on April 13th at 12pm for anyone that would like to participate.\nCan’t make our Facebook Live training? Join us for one of our regularly scheduled trainings offered every Tuesday throughout the year at 10am and 5pm. Click here to view upcoming dates. \nApril 12th-18th – CPCA’s Restaurant Week for Prevention\nSeveral local restaurants and businesses have offered to donate a portion of their sales starting Monday\, April 12th through Sunday\, April 18th.
