About Joseph Schuka

Joseph J. Schuka, funeral director and location manager at the Libby Funeral & Cremation Services (Libby Funeral Home) in Beacon, NY; for the last 4.5 years. A native of Peekskill, NY; he attended and graduated from Peekskill High School then continued with his mortuary studies at Briarwood College in Southington, CT; graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied (Mortuary) Sciences. Joe started his work in Dutchess County about 15 years ago, serving the communities of Fishkill-Hopewell Junction-Poughkeepsie, NY; then returning to Peekskill for about 10 years.

Joe has always been very civic minded, and active with various of service organizations and churches; from the local Lions Club International, local B.O.P.E. Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus and his church-parish, and the local Exchange Club, local Scout of America. Willing to help in any way he can, especially for the youth and veterans. Joe is extremely patriotic, never forgetting country.

Joe looks forward to every event and fundraiser that The Center for Prevention of Child Abuse (CPCA); he has enjoyed the annual One Too Many 5k events, which he spearheaded a 5K route for the CPCA around the City of Beacon.

Joe is the youngest son of Stanley and Carmen Schuka. Three older brothers Bryan, Brad and Michael. Uncle to Zoe, Addison, Zane and Savannah. And a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Coming from a large family, family has always been important to him. They are very supportive of Joe and all his actions.

Joe enjoys his support efforts for The Center for Prevention of Child Abuse. It’s a much-needed assistance and service for all children, because truly no child deserves any abuse. The works that this organization can do for a child, and even a parent; the simplest of thing which we take for granted, it’s amazing. He is proud to stand for this very worthy cause, and is honored to be recognized by the organization.
